Latina Smart Ambassador // 2013 // Selected by the Latina Smart Organization to be a College Campus Ambassador. As a proud Panamanian and ambassador I am the poster child for anything related to Latina Smart from answering questions about the program to organizing Latina Smart on-campus events with the help of the Latina Smart team.

 

Art Antidote Project // Founder & Artist // 2012 – Present // Aid underserved/minority youth in recovery from psychological trauma through art therapy and healing public art installations. Provide free curative art activities, workshops, and creative community projects to youth and their families.

 

Volunteer Pediatric Hospital Photographer // 2006 – Present // Provides families of critically ill infants and children complimentary photography services. Currently “on-call” status will Maryland General Hospital, University of Maryland Hospital Center, and John’s Hopkins Pediatric/NICU units.

 

Teaching Artist // 2010- Present // Provides free art activities, workshops, and creative community projects to the public.

 

Swim Across America // 2010 Team Captain & Swimmer // Raised over $5,000 for Baltimore open-water swim for cancer event. Organized team training, practices, website, fundraising and campaign. Swimmer in the September 2010 open-water event in Baltimore.

 

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Red Bull Amaphiko Program Specialist  // Red Bull Amaphiko + New Creatures // 2018-Present          
Assist with the management and coordination of the Red Bull Amaphiko participant developmental program. Contribute creative ideas to the overall success of projects. Lead day-to-day coordination and communication with the participants of Red Bull Amaphiko. Coordinate tracking of each participant’s 18-month development plan in conjunction with each assigned coach. Implement procedures and systems for the sharing of group information between participants, coaches, and program management. Assist with the scheduling of conference calls with all program participants and coaches. Develop contacts and support network in various business and social impact functions in order to support participant development. Research and recommend internal Red Bull and external opportunities to add value to each participant’s development. Coordinate communication with internal Red Bull stakeholders with regard to internal support of each participant. Work closely with Red Bull Amaphiko communications teams to provide relevant information on each participant to support driving media and PR opportunities. Track resources being provided to each participant and share best practices amongst coaches and program management. Assist with on-site management and coordination of assigned events, including Red Bull Amaphiko Storytellers, Red Bull Festival, The Medicine Show, and other events as assigned. Continue to build relationships with external Social Entrepreneurs and business contacts for future integrations and collaborations with Red Bull Amaphiko. Seek out and suggest efficiencies and new systems for productions. Coordinate invoicing, payments, and budget tracking. Travel to events, site visits, and meetings. Faculty Mentorship, as a MFACA instructor meet with students one-on-one during the semester along with mid-semester and end-of-semester critiques. MFA in Community Arts (MFACA) Making Art In Community IV & MFACA Thesis program’s second year supports: tangible, authentic engagement in community; written, visual and other research; development and application of professional skills, knowledge and competencies; creation of an articulate body of advanced artwork; utilization of self- defined assessment strategies and documentation of creative processes, products and their application. In simplest terms, “community” is defined as a group of people, organizations and/or institutions seeking and/or possessing a commonality of values, interests and/or ideas that define a linked existence.  MFACA students are expected to expand on this definition  by way of in-depth investigations that lend new meaning and significance to the community arts and socially-engaged fields.

Work with Lead Event Producer, as a part of New Creatures international production team, to scout host venue locations and programing partners. Plan and facilitate healing arts experiences and workshop, as an educator and wellness practitioner, for large-scale event participants, staff, guests, contributors, patrons, and other attendees. Work to convey the essence of each brand to all staff, contributors, guests, participants, and patrons. Ensured accuracy and consistency of all brand assets throughout the production process. Assist the Creative Director with various events on site, both corporate and social. Perform clerical duties to prepare for events, following budgets and recording costs to stay under budget. Source, purchase, and rent creative design elements for staging and site space activation. Work hand-in-hand with Senior designers during on-site fabrication, build-out, installation, and venue activation. Create local relationships, review/document locations and per-negotiate details with potential venues.

Develop and coordinate year-round, arts, youth empowerment, enrichment, and educational programs for Baltimore City’s Arts Council (Baltimore Office of Promotion and The Arts) for thousands of participants annually.
